The group is proud to say that Cr Bob Millar is our patron and, with his support, we look forward to finding our own home and bringing to you great theatre shows.
Group History
The Samford Valley Theatre Group was founded in on June 3rd 1999 and has been providing quality entertainment to the local community ever since. We officially became an incorporated body on 20th August 1999 (Incorporation No: IA20894)
Our first season was September / October 1999 when we performed two one-act plays under the collective title "Showcase". Both "Big Cats" and "The Last Tango in Samford Valley", with music by the Samford Valley Choral Society, showed the renowned Samford Community Spirit and proved to be a real crowd pleaser.
In June 2000 the group notched up a very successful production of "Happy Birthday" which, as with Showcase, was directed by Noeleen Taylor. It was also in the Year 2000 that the group became a member of ACT (Association of Community Theatre) which provides a forum for learning, discussion and a great opportunity to meet the committed individuals who make these productions possible.
